| LuckyFish Art Tattoo Flash WHAT DO YOU GET? | ||||
Sample Zip File Contents![]() |
When you order tattoo flash from luckyfishart.com, your will recieve instant gratification in the form of an immediate download! The zip file you will receive contains everything you will need to give your local tattoo artist a clear stencil pattern to work from and suggestions for the different ways you can choose to make the design custom and unique for you. When you unzip the downloaded file, you will see an assortment of files like those to the left (though the icons may appear different depending upon your system). Keep reading for a description of each one.
Tattoo Photo![]() |
Tattoo Photograph The first file is the photo, which comes to you as a .jpg of approximately 1MB. This lets you see an example of the tattoo installed, and is meant to serve as a starting point, to help you visualize. In this case this tattoo was a cover-up, so you can see a lot of light grey in the actual knotwork lines in the photo, covering the old tattoo.
Line Art![]() |
Line Art Next you will get two line art patterns, sent in both 72dpi and 300dpi. The smaller one is good enough quality for most tattoo stencil making, but I include a higher quality image in case you are ambitious and are going to be printing it much larger. I work really hard on these patterns to make them symmetrical and precise. These designs take a lot of concentration, and your local artist will appreciate being able to start out with a pattern that is balanced and accurate. If the design has orientation, and faces either to the right or left, I will also include a reversal. It is important that the tattoo be facing the correct way for the placement on your body, so I want to make sure you have both options and then you decide which you want.
Shaded Example(s)![]() ![]() |
Shading Usually I include at least one pencil-shaded version, to give the artist an idea of how I would shade this design. They may want to do it differently, but I like to provide a sample of the way I shade to make the weaves look more dimensional. I think it looks like the weave in wicker, and shadowing it accentuates the crucial overs and unders.
Color Example(s)![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Color Also included will be at least one, and often several, color versions. As you can see here that will usually show how coloring the design itself can look, and how using shading in the design and coloring in the background can look. My personal preference is usually to shade the design and then put color in the negative space, behind it (like the first purple color example here). That way you get the best of both techniques, and the colored background tends to lift the shaded parts up visually and give another sense of depth and dimension. The zip file contains all of this because I am very eager to see everyone get the best possible results with the designs they purchase from me. The more options you see, the more educated your eye is to the possibilities. Because every tattoo is hand-made, no two can ever be identical, and I want to encourage everyone to start with one of my patterns and then make it their own.
ReadMe File![]() |
"ReadMe" Text File The final part of the file is the READ ME text. This is a two page document, filled with my suggestions about how to do a quality Celtic tattoo. I have been specializing in this particular form of tattooing since 1984 and have a few tips and tricks that I would like to pass on to your local tattoo artist. I include this information because while they may have had a lot of experience they might not have done a lot of Celtic designs, so our mutual goal is the best possible tattoo for you. They might know all the ideas already, but maybe there is something in it that will be helpful or instructive to them.

I recently purchased a butterfly tattoo from LuckyFish Art. I have been looking for a very long time for just the right one. It had to be delicate, a little spirited or funny, feminine, artistic, meaningful, and on the smaller end of the size scale. I had a specific piece in my head but I'm not an artist so I couln't render it for a tattoo artist. And this is it--exactly from LuckyFish Art and so I'm ecstatic! It's going to be used as a mother/daughter double butterfly piece to signify our love. We are both very excited and can't wait to get the piece done. In terms of the shopping experience, it was EXCEPTIONAL in all areas. I received a detailed cofirmation email as soon as the order was processed. It included all the required addresses, phone numbers, and contact names. Customer service was of the highest quality, and the images easily downloadable. One extra thing LuckyFish Art did which was quite unusual was to include a Read Me file which included very detailed instructions for the local tattoo artist to work specfically on a complicated Celtic design and all its intricacies . . . So, A+++ to LuckyFish Art. I will be back and I will be sending friends and family. Thank you so much!!! Ann, Silver Spring, Maryland I am exceptionally happy with my purchase and was surprised that there were several options included of the design I purchased. This of course made it very easy for the artist I used to make a clear stencil and the resulting work is stunning! I was pleased with the prompt download of material and of course the price was fair. I had been researching my purchase for some time and used the merchants web site many times in conjunction with other web sites and was pleased at the amount of information posted on the merchants website. Overall, I am totally happy with all aspects of my dealings with the merchant. Couldn't have been better... Justine, Auckland, New Zealand
